Palestinian National Council: True solidarity with Palestine is not complete without measures that protect its people

The Palestinian National Council, which is headquartered in the Jordanian capital, affirmed that true solidarity with Palestine gains its actual meaning when it is transformed into practical steps that guarantee the protection of the national and human rights of the Palestinian people.
The Council said, in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was approved by the United Nations, that this occasion constitutes a global commitment to stand up to the extent of the continuing violations to which our people are exposed. And crimes that threaten their existence and inalienable rights.
The Council noted that our people in the Gaza Strip are facing a catastrophic reality, represented by a military aggression and the extermination of tens of thousands of innocent people, targeting civilian communities, infrastructure, hospitals and relief institutions, in addition to a comprehensive siege that deprives more than two and a half million people of the basic necessities of life, as an extension of terrorist acts that represent crimes against humanity and a clear violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, and fall within the framework of organized policies. Its goal is ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.
The Council added that, at the same time, settler attacks continue in the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces, by seizing lands, persecuting residents, and imposing a coercive reality aimed at pushing families to leave their areas, in an attempt to change the demographic character of the occupied land and expand settlement control at the expense of the Palestinian presence.
The Palestinian National Council affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state on borders. The Fourth of June, with Jerusalem as its capital, is an established right, recognized by the United Nations and recognized by the international community, and cannot be bypassed or circumvented through force or the imposition of facts on the ground.
The Council called for serious and responsible international action that ensures the cessation of aggression, the lifting of the siege, the provision of protection for civilians, and the accountability of all those who committed grave violations against the Palestinian people.
The Council concluded its statement, expressing its appreciation for all countries and popular, parliamentary and human rights positions around the world, which express their support. For justice and freedom for the Palestinian people, stressing that the steadfastness of the Palestinians and their steadfastness on their land will keep their cause alive and active until they achieve their full rights and their independent state is established with Holy Jerusalem as its capital.
