Skaik scores 4 strokes above par in “Golf Portugal”

Ahmed Skaik raised the performance record by scoring 76 strokes, four strokes above par, on the second day of his participation in the Aroeira Challenge tournament in Portugal, within the “Mina Tour” golf competitions, in his first international participation as a professional player, in a historic step for the captain of the national team.

Skaik succeeded in raising his performance rate in the second round, after achieving 78 strikes, six strikes above average, in the first round, bringing his total score to 154 strikes, 10 strikes above average, and he is among distinguished players from various countries of the world.

Skaik looks forward to achieving the greatest technical benefit and moving towards professionalism from the “Mina Tour” golf portal, which is the only tour based in the Middle East, specifically in the Emirates, and is recognized by the Official International Classification of Golf Professionals (OWGR), and is distinguished by holding internationally accredited tournaments in the region and the world, in addition to providing promising opportunities for players to advance towards larger tours in their careers.

The player explained after the end of the second round that he suffered a strain in the neck muscles, but he put pressure on himself to focus. He said: “Despite the injury, I tried to shoot the ball with the maximum force and distance possible. In general, I am still getting to know this type of grass court, and I am getting used to competing on it in the coming weeks as well.”

The Portuguese Aroeira Challenge Championship is witnessing strong competition at the end of the second round, with Italian Ludovico Addabbo topping the standings with 133 strokes, 11 strokes under par, and only one stroke ahead of Portuguese Pedro Figueiredo, who scored 134 strokes, 10 strokes under par.
