المملكة: Meteorology: The winter of this year is cold, “not extreme”… and Sunday is the beginning of the rains

The official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, revealed that the atmosphere in the Kingdom is currently characterized by beauty and relative stability, indicating that the Kingdom will enter a season WinterMeteorologically, next Monday, God willing, as temperatures will begin to gradually decrease, with continued chances of rain during the coming period.

He explained that the climate reports issued by the center indicate that the month of December will be “rainy” in the regions of the Kingdom, with amounts expected to be Rainfallis at or slightly above average, especially in the northern regions, in addition to a noticeable fluctuation in temperature and a relative decrease expected during the coming weeks.

A moderate year

He added that the year 2025 can be described as a “moderate and average year” in terms of the elements of The weatheraffecting the Kingdom, as no significant extreme weather events have been recorded so far, despite the two recent rounds of rain that several regions witnessed, and Mecca Al-Mukarramah had the heaviest amounts of rain, according to what the center’s reports announced.

Al-Qahtani indicated that the initial indicators of the winter season show that it will be cold but not bitter, with continuous chances of rain, pointing out that the drop in temperatures will be evident in the northern, eastern and central regions during the next month and the following, God willing.

The beginning of the rain

The official spokesman revealed that next Sunday will witness – God willing – the beginning of the first rainy round for the month of December, with rain expected to be between moderate to heavy, and to include a number of areas that were affected during the last period, especially Medina, the Hail region, the highlands of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and parts of its southern coast, in addition to other large areas of the Kingdom. .

Al-Qahtani concluded by emphasizing that December is considered one of the rainy months, especially in the northern regions and parts of the northeast, indicating that the weather during the coming period will be generally beautiful, with a clear drop in temperatures during the evening periods, and the presence of chances of rain and weather phenomena accompanying the expected conditions.
