King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God support him – to hold the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques competition for and the Second Prophetic Sunnah for the countries of the African continent, during the period from 6 to 11 Dhul-Qi’dah 1447 AH, in the Republic of Senegal with the participation of (100) contestants representing (53) African countries.

The competition, which is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Senegal in cooperation with the General Authority of Endowments, aims to enhance care for the Book of God Almighty and the Sunnah of the Prophet, encourage their memorization and contemplation of their meanings among Muslim children in the countries of the African continent, establish correct Islamic values in the souls of the participants, and stimulate the spirit of Honest competition in the fields of goodness, and building a generation that adheres to the moderate Islamic faith, in addition to highlighting the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and Muslims, and its continuous support for the memorizers of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, as well as strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between Islamic peoples.
He stressed that this competition represents a pioneering model in strengthening the connection between generations with the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and consolidating the values of moderation and moderation, in addition to its role in discovering talented people. In memorizing the Qur’an and its sciences, and highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts in supporting programs that serve the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – and disseminating them globally.
The competition includes two main branches: The first is specific to the Holy Qur’an, and includes four branches:
- The first branch: memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an with the ten frequent recitations from the Shatibiyyah and Durrah (narration and dirayah) methods with good performance.
- The second branch: memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an with good reciting and intonation, with an interpretation of the last ten parts, starting from the Almighty’s saying in Surat Al-Ankabut: (And do not dispute with the People of the Book except in a way that is best, except with those who are unjust. Among them), (Al-Ankabut: 46) until the end of Surat An-Nas.
- The third branch: memorizing ten parts with good reciting and intonation.
- The fourth branch: memorizing three parts with good reciting and intonation.
The second branch of the competition is specific to the Sunnah of the Prophet, and includes three branches:
- The first branch: memorizing the complete summary of Sahih al-Bukhari, with a translation of the companion (his name, surname, attributes, and death), He mentioned a hadith about his virtue, paying attention to the chapters.
- The second branch: Memorizing a summary of Sahih Imam al-Bukhari from the beginning of the book to Hadith No. 1344, with a translation of the Companion, mentioning a hadith about his virtue, and paying attention to the chapters.
- The third branch: Memorizing a summary of Sahih Imam al-Bukhari from the beginning of the book to Hadith No. 670, with a translation of the Companion, mentioning a hadith about his virtue, and paying attention to the chapters.
