المملكة: With narrative, interactive and educational activities…the launch of the Saudi Handicrafts Exhibition


Under the patronage of His Highness Minister of Culture, King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh launches on December 1, 2025 an exhibition: " 2025 AD

This exhibition comes within the library’s efforts to enhance national identity and revive the Saudi cultural heritage, and to shed light on some visual and handmade narratives that remain a constant source of inspiration for creators and writers to enrich the Saudi creative act.

Handicrafts and traditional industries in Saudi Arabia

The exhibition, which is held in the services and viewing hall of the library branch on Khurais Road, targets during the period between December 1 2025 AD – February 28, 2026 AD Highlighting the importance of these crafts in the local economy and culture and supporting traditional industries.

It also aims to enhance the national identity and Saudi culture through handicrafts, support traditional industries and handicrafts in the Kingdom, teach children handicrafts and traditional industries, and highlight the importance of handicrafts in the local economy.

The exhibition contains a wide range of traditional handicrafts, such as: wicker making, sadu, pottery, and leather, which are industries spread in most regions. Kingdom, highlighting the types of handicrafts and how they are manufactured, and their work with mastery and training by their makers.

Supporting Saudi handicrafts and artisans

A group of distinctive pictures from the Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which the library issued years ago and consisting of (20) volumes, is also displayed.

The exhibition also includes a special pavilion for children to watch and learn these crafts. In addition to displaying these handicrafts, the library holds a number of workshops and cultural activities. Keeping pace with the time period in which the exhibition is held, and providing narrative, interactive and educational activities about these crafts, their history, and their social and cultural dimensions.

The library invites all those interested and concerned with this field of heritage to participate in this important cultural event in support of Saudi handicrafts and artisans.
