A high-level UN delegation visits the UAE field hospital in Gaza and praises the country’s humanitarian efforts

GAZA, 1st December / WAM / Today, the Emirati Field Hospital in Gaza received a high-level UN delegation headed by Dr. Ramiz Al Akbarov, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in the Palestinian Territories, with the aim of reviewing the UAE’s continued efforts to support the health sector and enhance its capabilities during the current stage.
The UN delegation toured the field hospital, where they were briefed on the medical and humanitarian services provided by the hospital to the wounded and injured, in addition to the mechanisms for receiving emergency cases, and the staff working around the clock to provide urgent care.
The delegation also listened to an explanation about the UAE’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of the health sector and alleviate the human suffering of civilians, stressing its appreciation for the vital role played by the hospital in the current circumstances.
The UN delegation also visited the warehouses of Operation “Gallant Knight 3”, and was briefed on their equipment, work mechanism, and the volume of aid provided to the residents of the Strip, and listened to an explanation about the stages of preparing humanitarian shipments and their distribution mechanisms to ensure their timely arrival to the groups most in need.
During the visit, Dr. Ramez praised the great efforts made by Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” directing his special thanks to the UAE for its pioneering role in providing urgent humanitarian aid, and its continued keenness to harness its capabilities to alleviate the suffering of civilians, stressing that what the state provides constitutes a role model for human solidarity and effective response to crises.
He praised the role of the UAE in bringing joy to Gaza by organizing the first mass wedding, and the hope and psychological support this event brings to the people of the Strip in light of the difficult circumstances, stressing that such qualitative initiatives reflect a deep humanitarian dimension that goes beyond providing material aid to strengthening the community’s resilience, restoring the social fabric, and reviving the spirit of optimism among young people and families facing harsh daily challenges.
At the conclusion of its tour, the delegation stressed the importance of continuing humanitarian cooperation and unifying international efforts to support the people of Gaza and strengthen their steadfastness.
