Saudi Arabia and Russia open the Investment and Business Forum and sign a visa exemption agreement

The Saudi Minister of Energy, head of the Saudi side in the Saudi-Russian committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Russian side in the committee, Alexander Novak, in the presence of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, opened in Riyadh today the Saudi-Russian Investment and Business Forum, which is organized by the Ministries of Energy and Investment, and a number of senior officials, experts and investors from the two countries participate in it. With the aim of enhancing economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation.

 

The Saudi News Agency “SPA” indicated: Today, during the activities of the Saudi-Russian Investment and Business Forum, the Minister of Energy and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of climate change and low-emission development of greenhouse gases, which aims to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two countries in the field of climate change, and to strive to achieve the goals and principles of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, in order to achieve their common interests and enhance the partnership between them.

 

She added that The memorandum includes areas of technologies and solutions related to mitigating the effects of climate change, by exploring joint opportunities in activities to reduce, mitigate and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, and improving energy efficiency.

The Saudi Minister of Energy also witnessed, on the sidelines of the Saudi-Russian Investment and Business Forum, the signing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation, the agreement on mutual exemption from entry visas for citizens of the two friendly countries, which was signed on the Saudi side by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and on the Russian side by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

 

He also witnessed the signing of an agreement between the King Abdulaziz Foundation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Archives Agency in the Russian Federation, to cooperate in the areas of their respective specializations, through the exchange of information, the holding of seminars, forums and exhibitions, the exchange of relevant publications and publications, and the exchange of experiences and visits. The memorandum was signed by its CEO, Turki bin Muhammad Al-Shuwaier, and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Archives Agency in the Russian Federation. State Vice President Andrey Yurasov.
