The employment rate in Italy increased to 62.7% during October

Rome, 3 December / WAM / The Italian Statistical Agency, ESTAT, announced that the employment rate in Italy rose last October to 62.7%, the highest level recorded since the start of the statistical series in January 2004.
The Italian news agency Ansamed reported that the number of workers in the country reached 24 million and 208 thousand people during the same month, according to ESTAT.
According to preliminary data, the number of employees increased by 75,000 people compared to September, and an increase of 224,000 people compared to October 2024, which led to an increase in the employment rate by about 0.1 percentage points.
ESTAT indicated that the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points to reach 6.0% during October, while the youth unemployment rate decreased by 1.9 percentage points to reach 19.8%, adding that the unemployment rate stabilized at 33.2%.
