The French President arrives in China on an official visit

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beijing today, Wednesday, on a two-day official visit to China, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

 

A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed – in a statement today, according to the Chinese news agency “Xinhua” – Expressing China’s readiness to work with France to seize this visit as an opportunity to support the spirit that guided the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, strengthen strategic communication, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and work on closer coordination in multilateral affairs.

 

He added that the two sides can together make new progress in their comprehensive strategic partnership, promote the sound and steady development of relations between China and the European Union, and contribute more to multilateralism and building a peaceful world. And stability and prosperity.

 

This is President Macron’s fourth state visit to China, in response to the Chinese President’s historic state visit to France last year, which coincided with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.

 

During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Macron to guide the development of Sino-French relations under the new circumstances. The two presidents will exchange views in-depth. On major international and regional issues.
