An important step forward – civilian representatives in the delegations of Israel and Lebanon

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the United States of America and with the support of France, and witnessed for the first time the participation of two delegations from Israel and Lebanon, including civilian representatives.

United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric described this as an important step forward, and expressed his aspiration for continued momentum on this front.

The meeting was also attended by the Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon.
