In line with the vision of the President of the State / launching the Tahnoun bin Zayed Scholarship for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence to support distinguished undergraduate students at the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence

Abu Dhabi, 4 December / WAM / In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, which aims to consolidate the country’s position among the world’s leading countries in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, and under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council, the Tahnoon bin Zayed Scholarship for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence was launched, to support distinguished students from Bachelor’s degree at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence.

This scholarship will be implemented during the academic year 2025-2026, with the aim of enabling the next generation of leaders to achieve their academic and professional ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence.

This scholarship, based on merit, academic competition and academic excellence, aims to support approximately 350 undergraduate students over a period of six years.

Candidates will undergo a rigorous selection process that measures proficiency in mathematics, and skills in leadership and entrepreneurship.

Students who meet the conditions will also receive financial support to complete the program, in addition to exclusive opportunities to represent the UAE in high-level events designated for young people locally and internationally, in addition to the necessary resources to support their entrepreneurial projects and technical innovations.

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed, on this occasion, that artificial intelligence is reshaping various aspects of human progress, from science and education to the economy and society, and the future will be for those who learn quickly, adapt courageously, and improve the use of these technologies, harness them and direct them responsibly to serve humanity and enhance productivity and efficiency.

His Highness said that, based on this vision, this grant aims to empower young, talented and ambitious minds to be an active partner in shaping the future that we aspire to, as innovators who apply knowledge, transfer it generously, serve humanity, and enhance the UAE’s position as a leading destination at the forefront of the global innovation scene.

For his part, His Excellency Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, and Secretary-General of the Council for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology, extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous sponsorship of this initiative, which reflects His Highness’s vision aimed at investing in human potential and developing it to become the driving force of national progress.

He explained that the Tahnoun bin Zayed Scholarship for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, allocated to exceptional undergraduate students at the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, will contribute to building the next generation of global artificial intelligence leaders who will shape the knowledge economy of the future.

For his part, Professor Eric Zeng, President of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and University Professor, said that the university is committed to providing an advanced educational environment that enables young talents to continue advanced learning, conduct influential research, and transform innovation into a positive impact for society.

He expressed pride and gratitude for the support of the country’s leadership by providing the Tahnoun bin Zayed Scholarship for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for our bachelor’s program, stressing that this scholarship will inspire a new generation of researchers to lead with knowledge and creativity.

Unlike traditional programmes, the University’s Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence program combines core technical expertise, leadership, entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary study.

Students in this program combine humanities, business, and arts approaches to develop critical and ethical insights essential to advancing artificial intelligence responsibly and at scale.

This pioneering program is open to students from inside and outside the country, and aims to attract the brightest ambitious minds, which strengthens the university’s position at the forefront of education at the bachelor’s level specializing in artificial intelligence.

During the program, students will gain practical experiences through apprenticeship programs, part-time employment opportunities, mentorship programs, and partnerships with leading institutions in industry and artificial intelligence research.
