Government leaders from 11 countries learn about the UAE’s pioneering experience in the financial and economic sectors

Dubai, 4 December / WAM / 22 government leaders from 11 countries learned about the UAE’s pioneering experience in developing the financial and economic sectors, within the Global Financial Leaders Programme, organized by the Government Knowledge Exchange Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, to introduce advanced work methodologies in the economic and financial sectors in the country.

The program witnessed a series of specialized presentations, workshops and field tours, in addition to meetings with Emirati experts in the financial and economic sectors.

Participants learned about practical tools and solutions that support the design of future business models, enhance the readiness of government institutions to deal with global changes and develop innovative solutions to financial and economic challenges.

Government leaders from Brazil, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Rwanda, Vietnam, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, and the Sultanate of Oman participated in the program, and it covered topics that focused on developing financial policies, institutional governance, and knowledge exchange between countries.

His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, stressed that international specialized knowledge programs represent a major axis in the UAE government’s directions aimed at expanding the circle of knowledge sharing globally, and supporting the exchange of experiences and innovative practices in the economic and financial fields.

He pointed out that the financial and economic sectors constitute two main engines for developing government work and raising the quality of life, stressing that the program reflects a common understanding among the participating countries of the importance of building advanced economic models.

The Global Financial Leaders Program aims to enhance the international role of the government knowledge exchange program, by providing a new platform for exchanging best financial and economic practices and policies, building a cooperation network between leaders of the financial and economic sectors from various countries, and enabling government leaders to develop strategies that keep pace with global changes.

The program’s activities included field visits to a number of government and financial institutions in the country, including the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Emirates Financial Institute, Al Etihad Credit Bureau, and the Dubai International Financial Centre, where participants met with Emirati experts and officials and discussed with them the most prominent global trends in the financial sector and tools for developing economic policies.

It is noteworthy that the UAE government launched the government knowledge exchange program with the aim of transferring best government practices and expertise to sisterly and friendly countries, and enhancing cooperation in the areas of government modernization and development.

Since its launch in 2018, the program has succeeded in launching partnerships with dozens of countries around the world, with the aim of building institutional capabilities and developing government performance through the exchange of knowledge in the areas of strategic planning, government excellence, and leadership in government services, in addition to implementing strategic initiatives and building institutional capabilities.
