Festival activities start "Our winter in Hatta"

DUBAI, 5 DECEMBER / WAM / Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and within the framework of the “#Dubai_Destinations” campaigns, the “#Shatana_Festival_in_Hatta” is launched today, organized by “Brand Dubai”, the creative arm of the Dubai Government’s Media Office, and will continue to receive visitors until December 28 along the “Lim Lake” with an area of 3 hectares, with a stunning mountain view, and a rich program. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, pointed out that this year’s “Shatana in Hatta” festival builds on the great success achieved by its previous session in the Lim Lake area, which attracted more than 650,000 visitors over the course of nearly a full month of activities that received a great demand from visitors from inside and outside the country, stressing that the preparation for this edition took into account the preservation of diversity and inclusiveness, to contribute to achieving the goals of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, by enhancing awareness. Hatta has many tourist and cultural attractions.
She explained that the event headquarters was designed in a way that includes activities that suit family members of all ages, noting that the festival aims to provide an opportunity to explore the beauty of nature in Hatta and the richness of its cultural and historical scene through experiences that make everyone feel part of a success story, the title of which is moving towards a future in which the quality of life is enhanced.
The festival provides a wide range of facilities and services for the comfort of visitors, including prayer rooms, restaurants, cafes, parking lots, and valet service, in addition to many outlets selling various products and other services that complement each other in making the visit an unforgettable experience, especially in the winter season, which witnesses a large demand for visitors to Hatta from inside and outside the country.
Amina Taher, member of the organizing committee of the Shatana Festival in Hatta, explained that the event, with its integrated activities, constitutes a community event of great interest to the residents of Hatta, the people of the Emirates, as well as visitors from the Gulf countries, as it was taken into account that the timing of the festival is compatible with the school vacation period, thus providing a greater opportunity for families to enjoy the festival’s activities.
She added: The organizing committee of the festival was keen to combine entertainment and education, with a comprehensive agenda that includes more than 150 workshops and more than 30 activities for adults and children throughout the festival period. There will also be motivation for children to have their own projects in the future. Through our cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, four participants from the people of Hatta will participate in the “Little Merchant” competition, with the aim of encouraging the spirit of initiative, work culture and creativity among young people.
On the other hand, there will be more than 100 creative shows and episodes of premium TV shows on the main stage.
As part of Brand Dubai’s keenness to support projects that are members of the “With Pride from Dubai” initiative, and to diversify the services provided through the festival, 30 projects are participating in “Shatana in Hatta” within the current session, half of which go back to entrepreneurs from the people of Hatta, while the other half go back to entrepreneurs from around Dubai, to shed light on these projects, introduce their work, and promote their products, in order to enhance their growth opportunities, while visitors to the city will be able to eat food from participating local restaurants within the “With Pride from Dubai” area. Dubai.
In addition to 30 diverse events, the “Shatana in Hatta” agenda includes community events with unique experiences, including the “Cooking and Camping” event, the “Star Shooting” event, and the traditional life event on Hatta Farms, which is intended for children and combines experiencing ancient lifestyles in a fun and attractive way. The “Home Bakery” restaurant, which is considered one of the most famous restaurants in Dubai, is also participating in the festival.
This year, the festival will allocate large areas for children with a full program of activities and events designed to bring happiness to them, through workshops that include training in creative skills. The festival will also include, for the first time, a mini zoo that includes a group of birds and animals such as ponies, deer, goats, falcons, parrots, rabbits, and others.
The winter games area will add more fun and adventure to the festival, as it is designed to provide exciting and interactive experiences that create an enthusiastic atmosphere for children of all ages. Visitors can test their skills on the human crane game, jump ropes, or compete in the bumper car track in an experience full of energy and unforgettable memories. The festival will also include a group of skill games suitable for adults and children.
To add more excitement and fun, the festival this year will witness the addition of the “Maze Room,” which will include games specially designed for the Hatta Winter Festival, combining adventure, teamwork, and developing problem-solving skills, within a design inspired by Hatta’s heritage and its natural environment.
The festival includes a “giant games area” near the entrance to represent a welcoming and cheerful start to the family event, in an innovative style that combines nostalgia and fun. It will include large-scale models of traditional board games, such as chess, checkers, Connect Four, and Snakes and Ladders, which encourages families to spend joyful times.
The workshops area will serve as a creative center for children and adults alike, with an agenda full of attractive interactive activities throughout the festival. More than 150 workshops will be organized outdoors, with a stunning view of Lake Lim and the surrounding festival square, offering an opportunity for visitors, whether young or old, to learn handicraft skills and arts inspired by the beauty of the natural environment of the Hatta region through a distinguished group of experts from the people of Hatta, making it one of the most enriching and inspiring areas of the festival.
Sponsored by Camelicious, the Majlis will be the ideal place for senior citizens to spend some time talking, allowing them to recall some images associated with the Hatta area from memory, and relaxing with a charming view of the festival activities. The Majlis has been designed in a style that reflects the distinctive character of the Emirati Majlis.
In an aesthetic touch that increases the splendor of the festival headquarters, the mountainous area surrounding the festival headquarters will be illuminated using new and innovative technologies. The bridges in the middle of Lake Lim will also be illuminated with creative lighting and innovative designs inspired by nature and heritage, as the bridges will turn into paths glowing with exquisite lights in dynamic patterns and colors, which will add to the elegance of the festival and add more creative touches to the place.
In the middle of the festival headquarters on the shores of Lake Lim is the main theatre, which was designed in a simple style inspired by the mountainous nature of Hatta and its logo, which provides an elegant and quiet background for the exciting shows that the theater will host throughout the festival period, the number of which exceeds 100 shows, and episodes of a number of the most popular television programs presented by “Dubai Media Incorporated” and many innovative cultural and entertainment shows, specially designed in a style that suits family visitors, as the theater can accommodate about 500 attendees.
With the return of the Shatana Festival in Hatta for its new season, the “Brand Dubai Store” will return, giving those wishing to purchase souvenirs the opportunity to choose from a large group of creative products inspired by the works of more than 10 artists, who presented more than 25 distinct works of art, which will be displayed in the store.
The activities of the “Shatana in Hatta” festival will receive distinguished television coverage through “Dubai Media Incorporated” and through the studio of the “Sama Dubai” satellite channel, which occupies a distinguished location in the heart of the festival, and through it interviews will be held with the festival’s guests.
