المملكة: 36 candidates compete for the Water Innovation Awards in Jeddah

The World Water Innovation Award has unveiled its final list, which included 36 promising projects, carefully selected from among 2,570 entries representing 119 countries, in a proactive step to officially announce the winners in Jeddah on December 8, with the aim of providing radical and sustainable solutions to the challenges of Advanced desalination technologies, water treatment, and reuse, in addition to water governance, smart technologies, and water quality control solutions, in a diversity that reflects the comprehensiveness of the award and its targeting of the most minute details of the water crisis.
Technical solutions based on artificial intelligence to raise the efficiency of resource management, and projects that aim to reduce water loss at unprecedented rates, appeared among the list, making it a direct response to global priorities that search for smarter and more sustainable water systems.
Strict standards and a jury. International
The nominated works are subject to a rigorous evaluation stage administered by a high-level international jury that includes 28 experts and arbitrators from 12 influential countries in the water industry, geographically distributed between Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East, to ensure the neutrality and diversity of standards.
The presence of arbitrators from heavyweight countries in the sector, such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States, China, Britain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, represents a guarantee of the quality of the outputs and the credibility of the results, which It enhances the opportunities for these innovations to be applied and spread on a wide global scale.
The award views these projects as a future lifeline for regions suffering from resource scarcity, as innovators and researchers have focused since the opening of participation on developing technologies that give humanity fair opportunities to access safe and clean water.
The city of Jeddah is scheduled to witness the crowning of the winners in the six tracks during the official ceremony of the Innovation in Water Sustainability Conference “IDWS2025” in its fourth edition, In the presence of an elite group of international leaders and experts.
