Urgent | Trump gets an award "Viva for peace"

The President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, awarded the FIFA Peace Prize for the first time to US President Donald Trump, during the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony held today, Friday, in Washington, DC.
Trump received the award about 30 minutes after a dazzling display began at the Kennedy Center, before the draw of the World Cup groups scheduled for next summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Trump said on stage, alongside Infantino: "This is truly one of the greatest honors of my life. Aside from the awards…we saved millions of lives"
FIFA announced in a statement that the award – which FIFA announced last month without prior approval from its Board of Directors – had been presented. "To reward individuals who have taken extraordinary action for peace, and in doing so united people around the world".
