Trump threatens Iran with serious military repercussions.. What is the relationship between the Strait of Hormuz?

US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with serious repercussions if it placed sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran vowed to prevent any oil exports through it as long as the US-Israeli attack on it continued.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "If mines are placed for any reason and are not removed immediately, the military repercussions on Iran will be on an unprecedented level.".

As the US President warned Donald Trump confirmed that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Iran disables the flow of Oil via Strait of Hormuz.

He said Trump in a post on the platform "Truth Social": Any step by Iran to stop the movement of oil in the Strait will be met with American strikes "20 times harsher" From any previous strikes on Tehran.
