Netanyahu: We are about to complete the first phase of the Gaza agreement, and the second phase is more difficult

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that we are facing a stage in which we believe that there is an opportunity for peace and we want to exploit it and discuss that with US President Donald Trump later this month.

Netanyahu added – in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Sunday – that we are about to complete the first phase of the agreement on Gaza and the body of an Israeli detainee remains, and after we recover it we will move to the second phase, which he described as the most difficult, considering that the first phase was achieved thanks to the work Military and pressure exerted by President Donald Trump.

He indicated that he discussed with the German Chancellor how to end Hamas’ rule in the Gaza Strip and said, “This is central to ensuring the future of Israel and the Gaza Strip.”
