18 migrants died after a rubber boat sank south of the Greek island of Crete

At least 18 migrants have died trying to cross The Mediterranean Sea in a rubber boat, after it capsized south of Crete, according to Greek authorities on Saturday.
The authorities said: "A passing Turkish commercial ship found the boat, which was half submerged in water, yesterday, Saturday, and two survivors were rescued, while searches continue for others."
Greece is one of the main entry points into the European Union for people fleeing conflict and poverty in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and fatal accidents often occur during these journeys.
