In response to Trump… Zelensky is ready to organize elections in Ukraine

Trump’s accusations against Zelensky
Earlier, Trump accused Zelensky of not reading the latest proposals of his administration, and said that Russia has the advantage in the conflict, in an interview conducted with him by the Politico news site published on Tuesday.
Trump accused Kiev of exploiting the war to avoid holding elections, and no elections have been held in Ukraine since the start of the war, as the authorities have imposed martial law since then.

Ukrainian law prohibits holding elections under martial law, without which the presidential election would have had to be held in March 2024.
But Zelensky, after the criticism directed at him by Trump, expressed his willingness to organize new elections.
Zelensky said in a statement to reporters. "I am ready for the elections"Pointing out that he asked the deputies to prepare "Proposals related to the possibility of amending the legislative foundations and election laws under martial law" Which was announced after the Russian invasion.
But he added up "I explicitly ask the United States to help me, and perhaps with European colleagues, in ensuring security for the elections"
Zelensky’s tour of Europe
Zelensky, who has toured European capitals in recent days to formulate a response to the US plan, on Monday held talks with European leaders in London and Brussels.
On Tuesday, he headed to Italy to meet with Pope Leo For American support.
He also expressed dissatisfaction with Putin for not responding to American efforts to end the war, and finally imposed sanctions on the two largest Russian oil companies.
In the interview with Politico, Trump criticized the European role, saying "They talk but they are not productive".
