"Red Sea" Signs an agreement to support Saudi talent in animation


Declare Red Sea International Film Festival Launching a strategic partnership with the City of Animation and Creative Industries (CITIA), organizer of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival; This aims to support the Animation in the Kingdom and enhancing its presence globally.

The memorandum of understanding was signed in Jeddah between the CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Faisal Baltoor, and the CEO of CITIA, Michael Marin.

Developing Saudi Talents

The three-year, renewable partnership aims to develop Saudi talent and expand the horizons of international cooperation by participating in the international market for animated films, and making Opportunities for professional communication and exchange of experiences.

It also includes presenting an annual program in the Cultural Square in Historic Jeddah that displays selections from the works of the Annecy Festival, in addition to workshops and events directed at children and families.

Anticipated Initiatives

The anticipated initiatives, starting in 2026, include the formation of a specialized committee for animation within Red Sea Market, and implementing training workshops and student and professional exchange programs in cooperation with the professional development system affiliated with CITIA, in addition to examining the launch of joint programs for production, talent development, and facilitating access to international markets.

The CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Faisal Baltoyor, stressed that this partnership represents an important addition to the animation industry locally and globally, noting that it opens broad horizons for creative exchange, awareness programs and activities directed to the public, and contributes to strengthening the position of Jeddah. And the Annecy Festival are two global destinations that support creators in this sector.
