المملكة: Supporting women.. The King Salman Center provided services to 200 million women in 79 countries

Helping those in need

She recalled the establishment of the King Salman Relief Center in May 2015, to be a leading international center in and providing relief to beneficiaries all over the world without discrimination, explaining that the Center is keen to support and empower women across various humanitarian sectors and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in cooperation with United Nations organizations, international organizations and civil society organizations, as the Center presented to women (1,169) projects at a total cost of (3) billion (800) million US dollars, from which more than (200) million women in (79) countries benefited.

She stressed Al-Muhanna said that women face great challenges during periods of conflict, including displacement and loss of safe shelter, which leaves many of them as breadwinners for their families, and vulnerable to food insecurity and malnutrition, which directly affects their lives, in addition to their limited access to health services, especially in the field of reproductive health, in addition to the increase in gender-based violence directed against them, and their lack of access to educational and work opportunities, which limits their effective participation in society.

Women’s Rights

She indicated Jawaher Al Muhanna said that in response to these challenges, the King Salman Relief Center provides comprehensive humanitarian interventions for women, including protection, shelter, and psychological and social support for them, raising awareness about women’s rights, confronting violence, and contributing to strengthening social cohesion between displaced women and host communities.

She indicated that, on the health side, the center provides mobile clinics and medical services in the field of reproductive health, and training midwives in remote areas to reduce maternal deaths.

Anti Violence

Also, in the field of combating gender-based violence (GBV), the center provided protection programs, legal, psychological and social support, provided safe spaces for women and girls, and trained workers in this field to ensure optimal support for survivors, and raise awareness to combat violence against them.

On the economic level, she explained that the King Salman Relief Center also provided vocational training programs in the field of economic empowerment of women, tools for professions, and supporting women in rural areas through agricultural production activities, adding that the center is educationally interested in supporting girls from During the rehabilitation of school facilities and the provision of school supplies to ensure girls continue their education.

At the conclusion of her speech, Jawaher Al Muhanna stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Relief Center, shows its keenness to support all efforts aimed at preserving human rights and dignity, especially for women in the affected countries, expressing her hope that international efforts will unite to develop more comprehensive and sustainable solutions for a better future for all affected countries.
