The OPEC Fund supports the efforts of the Sri Lankan government to confront hurricane damage "Detwah"

Vienna, December 12, 2017 – The OPEC Fund for International Development (OPEC Fund) provided an emergency aid grant worth $500,000 to the government of Sri Lanka, to contribute to meeting urgent humanitarian needs and restoring basic services to communities affected by the devastating effects of Cyclone Ditwah.

This was announced by Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, Director General of the OPEC Fund, during a meeting held with His Excellency MRK Linagala, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Austria, with the aim of supporting the government’s efforts in emergency response to the necessary needs resulting from the hurricane’s losses.
