CEO of " Adnik": "Liwa Festival" It reflects Abu Dhabi’s vision of providing quality experiences that attract visitors

Abu Dhabi, December 13 / WAM / His Excellency Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNEC Group, confirmed that the sustainability of the Liwa Festival 2026 reinforces the keenness of the wise leadership to support entertainment and community events and activities, as they are an essential pillar in enhancing the quality of life, and highlighting the emirate’s position as a global destination that attracts various segments of society and visitors of all ages.

He said in a statement today that the festival is one of the integrated events that combines entertainment, culture, sports and heritage, and the continuous development in its organization, in line with the aspirations of the public, and reflects Abu Dhabi’s vision of providing quality experiences that meet the interests of families and youth alike.

Al Dhaheri extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, for his unlimited support for the success of the event, the organizing committee and all national institutions working to bring it out in a way that befits the reputation and status of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He explained that the festival includes a variety of events and accompanying activities designed to suit various segments of society, and contribute to enhancing social interaction and celebrating cultural identity, in addition to providing a safe and integrated entertainment experience in an attractive family environment.

He pointed out that this year’s session is distinguished by the diversity of its activities and its ability to attract increasing numbers of visitors from inside and outside the country, including Gulf and international visitors, which confirms the growing status of the festival and its role in supporting the tourism and economic movement in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Al Dhaheri stated that the drone displays witnessed at the festival received wide praise from visitors, as they provided an innovative visual experience that contributed to enriching the entertainment program, and reflected the use of the latest technologies in organizing events in a way that enhances the audience’s experience.

In a related context, the historic “Qatouf Castle” in the Al Dhafra region is preparing to receive visitors to the Liwa International Festival 2026. The archaeological castle has completed all arrangements and provided all visitors’ requirements, as it represents a great historical legacy in the Al Dhafra region, with its architectural elements, geometric decorations, and gutters made of palm trunks and wood.

To celebrate the launch of the festival, “Burj Khalifa” was lit up yesterday evening to celebrate the launch of the activities of the “Liwa International Festival” 2026, amid remarkable interest from those gathered in front of the tower on the occasion of the opening of the activities.

The hotels in the Al Dhafra region are witnessing a large turnout from guests of the Liwa International Festival, in conjunction with the various activities within the currently held festival, which continues until the third of next January.

Tourism sources confirmed that the Al Dhafra region attracts visitors from citizens, residents and from outside the country, due to the great value represented by the activities scheduled within the festival.

As part of efforts to promote sustainability, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi established in “Liwa Village” within the new edition of the 2026 International Festival, in cooperation with the organizer LINKVIVA and the energy partner Kilo Energy, a huge temporary solar station at the festival site, to prove not only that renewable energy is capable of fully operating events, but also that these solutions are more comfortable for visitors because they are free of noise and emissions.

The system, developed by Kilo Energy, combines a large-scale mobile solar plant with advanced energy storage systems from Huawei to ensure a continuous supply of clean energy around the clock.
