A sporting agenda full of events and tournaments during June in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, June 2, 2017 (WAM) – During the current month of June, the capital, Abu Dhabi, will host a diverse sports agenda full of tournaments and events, led by the competitions of the second session of the Special Olympics UAE Games, the “Abu Dhabi Sports Summer” events, in addition to the fourth round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and the Abu Dhabi National Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

The second edition of the “Emirates Games” will be held from June 6 to 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), with the participation of more than 1,000 players, both male and female, of people of determination, in addition to international delegations. It will witness the launch of a new visual identity for the games that includes a logo inspired by the colors of the UAE flag.

The Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, in cooperation with the Emirates Bowling Federation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is organizing the first edition of the Academy’s Bowling Championship during the period from June 11 to 14, with the participation of an elite group of female players at the local and international levels.

Tomorrow, the Hudayriat Cycling Track will witness the launch of community sporting events on the occasion of World Bicycle Day, for distances ranging between 1 and 5 km, in addition to a distance of 40 km.

At Mubadala Arena, the fourth round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the suit category will be held during the period from June 5 to 7, forming an important stop in the local season.

Mubadala Arena will also host the UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship competitions from June 12 to 14, with the participation of hundreds of players of different nationalities, belts and age groups, while the first-place winners receive 1,000 points, making the tournament one of the most prominent classification stations during the month.

In Al Ain, the Abu Dhabi Fencing Club is organizing the Abu Dhabi International Open Fencing Championship on June 6 and 7.

The activities of the fifth and fourth editions of the “Abu Dhabi Sports Summer” and “Al Ain Sports Summer” will return, respectively, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centers (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, as part of the largest summer sporting events hosted in indoor halls in the Middle East.

The event is held in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the ADNOC Group, as the fifth edition of the “Abu Dhabi Summer of Sports” will start from June 6 to August 23, while the ADNEC Al Ain Center will host the fourth edition of the “Al Ain Summer of Sports” during the period from June 10 to August 19.
