Completion of the development of the intersection of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street with Al Awir and Manama Streets in 2028.

The Roads and Transport Authority has awarded a contract for the project to develop the intersection of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street with Al Awir and Manama Streets. The project includes the implementation of bridges with a length of 2,300 metres, increasing the number of lanes, and implementing service roads on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and Al Awir Streets in both directions, in addition to implementing entrances and exits to residential and development areas along the extension of the street.

The project contributes to increasing the street’s capacity from 5,200 vehicles per hour in both directions, to 14,400 vehicles per hour in both directions, an increase of 176%. It also contributes to reducing travel time from 20 minutes to only five minutes, and the project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2028.
