The President and the King of Jordan discuss the blatant Iranian attacks on the Emirates and countries in the region

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Presidential Court.
His Highness and His Majesty King Abdullah II – who is on a fraternal visit to the country – exchanged congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, praying to God Almighty to bring it back to the two countries and their people with goodness and blessings, and to perpetuate their security and prosperity.
During the meeting, His Highness the President and His Majesty the King of Jordan discussed regional developments in light of the military escalation and its dangerous repercussions that threaten the security and stability of the region.
The meeting touched on the blatant and ongoing Iranian attacks targeting countries in the region, and the violation they represent of the sovereignty of states and international laws and norms, and constitute a threat to international peace and security. In this context, His Majesty King Abdullah II renewed Jordan’s solidarity with the UAE regarding all the measures it takes to defend its sovereignty and security, and ensure the safety of its citizens.
His Highness the President also affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with brotherly Jordan in the face of Iranian attacks targeting its sovereignty and security.
The two sides stressed the need to immediately stop the escalating military actions, and give priority to serious dialogue and diplomatic solutions in addressing the various outstanding issues in the region, in a way that preserves its security and avoids further tensions and crises.
During the meeting, His Highness the Head of State also discussed with His Majesty the King of Jordan the fraternal relations and various aspects of cooperation between the two countries, stressing their keenness to continue coordination and joint work in a way that serves their development priorities and mutual interests, and brings goodness to their peoples.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials, as well as the delegation accompanying His Majesty the King of Jordan during the visit.
His Majesty King Abdullah II had previously arrived in the country, where he was received at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Court, and Head of the Emirates Accounting Authority, Hamid Obaid Abu Shabas, and a number of senior officials.
