US police detain a person in the Brown University shooting incident

American police arrested a person today as part of the investigation into the shooting incident that occurred at Brown University in the city of Providence on the east coast of the United States, according to the city’s mayor.

Providence Mayor Brett Smiley announced during a press conference that the closure measures imposed at Brown University had been lifted.

A shooting occurred on the campus of Brown University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, last night, killing two people and wounding nine others, all of them students, according to local authorities.

American officials said that the shooting occurred during final exams on the university campus, inside a building where engineering and physics are taught and contains classrooms and laboratories.

It is noteworthy that Brown University is one of the most prestigious colleges in the United States, with 7,300 undergraduate students and more than 3,000 graduate students.
