The UAE condemns the drone attack on a peacekeeping forces base in Kadugli, Sudan

The UAE strongly condemned the drone attack that targeted the logistical support base of the United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei in the city of Kadugli in the Republic of Sudan, and resulted in the death and injury of a number of members of the Bangladeshi battalion of the peacekeeping forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of this sinful attack, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence aimed at destabilizing security and stability.

The Ministry reiterated the UAE’s strong condemnation of the attacks targeting peacekeepers, stressing that the United Nations Interim Security Forces’ targeting of Abyei constitutes a violation of international law and Security Council Resolution No. 2802.

The Ministry expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with the international peacekeeping forces of the United Nations, and with the countries participating in it, stressing its support for international efforts aimed at maintaining security, stability and peace, and providing humanitarian aid in conflict areas.

The Ministry also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims, to the interim government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, to the friendly Bangladeshi people, and to the United Nations, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
