"Arabic days" Celebrates" The language of the ḍad" As a tool for creativity

ABU DHABI, 18 December / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, celebrates International Arabic Language Day, which was approved by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on December 18 of each year, out of belief in the role of the Arabic language and its strong presence in the global cultural and intellectual structure.
In conjunction with this celebration, the activities of the Arabic Days Festival, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, were held this week over three days full of creativity, music, cultural dialogue, and learning Arabic supported by artificial intelligence.
Through these activities, the festival transcended the image of the Arabic language confined to books and presented it as a living language, a practiced identity, and a tool for expression and creativity.
The organization of “Arabic Days” came within the cultural vision of the UAE, by placing the Arabic language at the heart of the national identity, supported by initiatives from the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language and the National Strategy for Cultural and Creative Industries 2021-2031.
The festival transferred the Arabic language from a symbolic celebration to a daily living experience, practiced through art, music, thought and education.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the Arabic Days Festival enhances the status of this great language, and seeks to consolidate its presence on a large scale among new generations, whether native speakers or non-native speakers with multiple cultures.
He stressed that what was achieved in the days of Arabic is a practical model of how to transform cultural ideas into influential experiences on the ground, and proves that the Arabic language is a community project, and not the responsibility of one entity or individual.
He pointed out that one of the biggest challenges of the Arabic language today is unifying efforts, and “Ayyam Al Arabiya” has presented a model based on partnership that brings together media, education, culture, technology, arts, and cultural heritage items such as perfumes, fashion, and even sports and football, making them all essential partners in building the relationship with the language, because supporting Arabic content is no longer a cultural option, but rather a cognitive and developmental necessity.
The “Ayyam al-Arabiya” festival demonstrated that integration between education, media, and the arts is the true path to the sustainability of the language, and that the diversity of participants in the cultural project, including media professionals, academics, creatives, musicians, and poets, in addition to the public attendance, ensures the depth of the event’s impact and sustainability, and transforms the event from a passing event into a real platform for the convergence of ideas, the integration of roles, and the building of a cultural discourse capable of reaching society in its various segments.
The festival was able to break the idea of “language within a book” and present it as a language of life, identity and expression. Artificial intelligence also contributed to supporting innovations related to the Arabic language, as it represents a strategic opportunity to enhance Arabic linguistic data, develop solid and specialized content, and stimulate investment in digital Arabic content.
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center plays a pioneering role in consolidating and supporting the status of the Arabic language at the local and international levels, as it is the body concerned with enhancing and enriching the presence of the Arabic language among the world’s languages.
The Center organizes and sponsors a group of initiatives, programs and events that aim to put the Arabic language in the position it deserves and enhance its ability to develop and keep pace with the times, including the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which has a high standing among literary awards in the region and the world, and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, in addition to other awards, exhibitions, local and international book festivals, and specialized conferences dealing with the Arabic language.
