Under the patronage of the President of the UAE, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 brings together leaders to discuss the future of energy, water, climate and finance.

Abu Dhabi, December 18, 2026 – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 will be held during the period from January 11 to 15, in a session that is considered the largest since the start of the week and with broader horizons and aspirations.
The event, hosted by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), a leader in the field of clean energy, brings together leaders, investors and innovators from around the world to accelerate efforts to develop practical solutions that contribute to strengthening the interconnection between various global systems and sectors.
The holding of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 comes at a time when the world is passing between two phases, one of which focuses on dealing with existing systems, and the other focuses on exploring the systems we need in the future.
The 2026 session of the week will be held under the slogan “An Integrated Start to the Future,” and will provide the opportunity for experts and specialists in the energy, finance, food, water, and environment sectors to develop new solutions that will support the interconnection between these systems and sectors, expand the scope of their influence, and enhance integration among them.
The week will highlight technologies that contribute to enhancing resilience and adaptation at the global level, including artificial intelligence-based energy networks, innovation in climate finance, and solutions that support food and water security.
By bringing together an elite group of leaders and experts from these interconnected sectors, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 aims to establish a global model for intensifying constructive and fruitful cooperation to achieve tangible results and broad impact.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masdar, said on this occasion that, in line with the vision and directives of the leadership to enhance international cooperation and stimulate sustainable development around the world, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 will be held to coincide with the two decades since the founding of Masdar, which was launched by the UAE to diversify the country’s energy mix and build capabilities in the renewable energy sector, and marked the beginning of a new chapter in the region and the world in this field.
He added that the week continues its role as a prominent global event to activate efforts and build fruitful partnerships, as it brings together leaders, innovators and decision-makers to discuss ways to make a qualitative shift towards building a sustainable future that includes everyone.
He pointed out that this year’s session of the week focuses on a new phase of promising opportunities, and achieving integration between various systems and sectors, which contributes to accelerating the pace of hard work and advancing sustainable progress.
His Excellency stressed that the 2026 edition of the Week will constitute an important platform that brings together the most prominent leaders and personalities, and showcases the most important visions and ideas that enhance economic and social development. The Zayed Sustainability Prize will also continue its prominent role in empowering the current and future generations of sustainability pioneers.
For more than 18 years, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week has established itself as a leading global platform for international cooperation and building prominent partnerships that contribute to stimulating global efforts in the field of sustainability.
In its 2025 session, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week hosted more than 50,000 participants from more than 170 countries, including 13 heads of state and prominent leaders from the government sector.
The 2026 session will include several new events with the aim of enhancing communication and accelerating ways to formulate effective and tangible results, including the “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Dialogues”: which are high-level discussion sessions focusing on translating visions and ideas into practical solutions, in addition to the “Blue Economy Forum”, which is a new event held in partnership with the International Chinese Businessmen Federation, and sheds light on water security and economic solutions related to this sector.
It also includes “Innovative Technologies”, where pioneering clean technologies are displayed for the first time, reflecting the week’s role as a platform to showcase the next generation of clean energy, water and digital solutions, in addition to “Communication and interaction tools supported by artificial intelligence”, where new digital systems will monitor the most prominent ideas and pledges presented and enhance communication between participants throughout the week.
The list of partners of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 includes the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, Global South Utilities, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Worldwide Technology, Emirates Global Aluminium, Emsteel, Aldar Properties, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Total Energies, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi.
The most prominent events of the week include the official opening ceremony and distribution ceremony of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which will be held on January 13 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, which brings together global leaders in lively and constructive discussion sessions, and the World Future Energy Summit, which attracts the participation of more than 700 international brands, and includes the launch of the “The Greenhouse” platform for startup companies and the “Fuse AI” area dedicated to artificial intelligence applications in the fields of energy. Clean, in addition to the launch of the first Greenpeace Cinema show, and the Women’s Forum for Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy, which focuses on empowering women to contribute an active role in promoting sustainability.
The activities also include the “Youth for Sustainability” Forum and Center, which attracts the participation of more than 3,500 young men and women, the “Communication with Investors” initiative of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which continues its pivotal role in empowering innovators who seek to make a qualitative shift in the categories of health, food, energy, water, climate action, and global secondary schools, and the Green Hydrogen Summit, which is a pioneering platform that brings together the most prominent stakeholders to enhance cooperation and accelerate the growth of the global hydrogen economy.
It also includes the Global South Utilities Forum, which brings together an elite group of policymakers, developers, financiers and buyers from the UAE and countries of the Global South.
The Week’s partners’ activities include the annual General Assembly meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) on January 11 and 12, and the annual “Global Climate Finance Center” forum on January 15, which brings together leaders and experts in the fields of finance from the government and private sectors.
