The UAE and Ireland are discussing prospects for enhancing economic and tourism cooperation

Dublin, December 18 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, Chairman of Investopia, held two bilateral meetings with His Excellency Darragh O’Brien, Minister of Climate, Environment, Energy and Transport of the Republic of Ireland, and Paul Kelly, Director of Regional Development at the National Tourism Development Authority, to discuss ways to enhance economic and tourism cooperation, and explore partnership opportunities in a number of sectors of common interest.
This came on the sidelines of the “Investobia – Dublin” dialogues, which brought together an elite group of senior officials, business leaders and investors from the UAE and the Republic of Ireland, and in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, and His Excellency Mohammed Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment in the UAE.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri stressed that the UAE is pursuing an open economic policy based on strengthening cooperation with various international partners, noting that the meeting contributed to deepening economic and tourism coordination, and expanding areas of cooperation between government agencies and the business communities in the two countries, in a way that supports the growth of joint investments, and enhances air connectivity and tourism exchange between them.
His Excellency Bin Touq said: “The UAE is keen to build effective economic partnerships with the Republic of Ireland, based on exchanging experiences and exploring qualitative investment opportunities in priority sectors, in a way that contributes to supporting the competitiveness of the business environment in the two countries.” His Excellency explained that Investopia continues its role in linking markets and enabling direct dialogue between decision-makers and investors, thus accelerating the transformation of investment opportunities into realistic projects that contribute to supporting national economies.
During the meeting, His Excellency Darragh O’Brien, Minister of Climate, Environment, Energy and Transport of the Republic of Ireland, discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of sustainable energy, infrastructure, and transportation, in addition to exchanging experiences in the circular economy, and policies that support accelerating the transition towards a green economy, in a way that enhances the efforts of the two countries in achieving sustainability goals.
The meeting also witnessed the meeting of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri and Paul Kelly, Director of Regional Development at the National Tourism Development Authority in Ireland, to discuss ways to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries, and exchange experiences in developing tourist destinations and developing regional tourism, especially in the areas of planning tourist routes, building tourism brands for sustainable local regions and destinations and mutual promotion of them, and enhancing the flow of visitors in a way that supports the tourism goals of the two countries.
