"Emirates Parental Care" It pleases senior citizens with quality initiatives

Dubai, December 20 / WAM / Senior citizens enjoy a well-established position in the UAE’s social development system, as they are bearers of the national memory, including authentic values ​​and experiences passed down through generations. This is in line with the UAE’s trends that place the family at the heart of the development process.

In this field, the pivotal role of public benefit associations is highlighted, which contribute to translating the state’s policies and its various institutions in the social field into practical programs and effective field initiatives, and complement efforts to support senior citizens and enhance family cohesion.

In this context, the Emirates Society for Parental Care continues to embody the country’s directions by implementing initiatives targeting senior citizens. During the current year, it implemented 40 community initiatives and events aimed at promoting the values ​​of filial piety and family cohesion, as part of its ongoing efforts to serve the community and improve the quality of life of senior citizens.

The number of beneficiaries of the association’s programs is 2,850, while 1,000 senior citizens, male and female, participated in the activities and events organized during the current year, recording an 82% increase in the participation rate compared to 2024, which reflects the growing demand for the association’s programs and the expansion of its societal impact.

Senior citizens constitute one of the basic pillars of the social fabric of the UAE, due to the accumulated expertise and life experiences they possess that have contributed to the process of construction and development, as the state is keen to benefit from their moral and cognitive role in consolidating the values ​​of national identity, belonging and loyalty, and enhancing communication between generations, which contributes to the transfer of cultural and social heritage to new generations.

The initiatives implemented by the association varied between health programs and awareness workshops, in addition to social and recreational activities and foreign trips, as well as international participation in specialized conferences, to meet the needs of the target groups.

The total volunteer hours implemented by the association amounted to 184 hours, provided by members of the administrative body and affiliated members of the association, in addition to the association’s volunteer team, while the percentage of new beneficiaries reached 60% of the total beneficiaries.

Regarding its future plans, the association confirmed its readiness to actively participate in the Year of the Family 2026, by launching new programs and initiatives that enhance the role of the family in caring for senior citizens, contribute to strengthening ties between generations, and consolidating authentic Emirati values, foremost of which is honoring one’s parents.

These efforts come in support of the state’s goals of empowering senior citizens and promoting family and community cohesion, in line with the UAE’s vision of building a cohesive and sustainable society based on social solidarity, enhancing the status of senior citizens, celebrating the family as the solid foundation for community stability and sustainable development, and focusing on caring for senior citizens as it is not only a moral duty, but a pillar of comprehensive social and human development.

As the Year of the Family 2026 approaches, the importance of continuing to develop policies and programs supporting senior citizens, and integrating roles between government agencies, civil society institutions, and the family, is highlighted, in order to establish a pioneering humanitarian model in caring for senior citizens.

It embodies the conviction that building a cohesive society begins with a close-knit family that surrounds senior citizens with care and respect, and invests their experiences and values ​​in raising generations.
