His Excellency Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States in Sharjah, presented a scientific paper in his capacity as one of the coordinating experts in the second component of the Common Reference Framework for the Arabic Language, which is one of the most prominent strategic programs that ALECSO is currently working on.
The symposium was organized in cooperation between ALECSO, the University of Manouba, and the Arab Researcher and Computational Linguistics Laboratory, with the participation of an elite group of academics and experts. It highlighted the pioneering initiatives to develop linguistic policies in the Arab world, and the importance of a common frame of reference in unifying educational approaches and improving the competence of Arabic language learners.
Al-Hammadi reviewed what was accomplished in the second component of the framework, which is related to building standards for Arabic language curricula and standards for Arabic language tests, in addition to forming a joint Arab working team, and determining scientific outputs that include preparing standards documents, methodological guides, and scientific reports.
He stressed that the center’s participation comes within the framework of its pioneering role in supporting the Arabic language and enhancing Arab cooperation in the field of its education, which contributes to preserving linguistic and cultural identity and raising the status of the Arabic language in light of digital transformations.
ALECSO honored the participants and institutions in appreciation of their contributions to serving the Arabic language. It also honored Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi for his scientific participation, and in turn, he presented a collection of the center’s recent publications for the year 2025 to His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Omar, Director General of the organization, which included specialized studies in developing Arabic language education.
