The Ukrainian army withdraws from the eastern town of Siversk to protect the lives of soldiers

The Ukrainian army announced on Tuesday its withdrawal from the besieged town of Siversk in the east of the country after Russian forces announced on December 11 that they had taken control of it.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army said in a post on the Telegram application, “In order to preserve the lives of our soldiers and the combat capabilities of our units, the Ukrainian defenders withdrew from the town, adding that it inflicted heavy losses on the enemy.”
