Mohammed bin Rashid issues a decree forming the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, may God protect him, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, issued Law No. 12 of 2025 regarding the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation, including its objectives, powers, and concerned parties, as the Foundation embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Supreme Chairman of the Foundation, in developing charitable, relief and humanitarian work.
In addition to the law, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum issued three regulatory decrees regarding the Foundation, represented by Decree No. 41 of 2025, appointing His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also issued Decree No. 43 of 2025 forming the Board of Trustees of the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation, which stipulated that the Foundation’s Board of Trustees be headed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and with the membership of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as Vice President.
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees includes as members: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees also includes in its membership: Secretary General of the Foundation Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Cares Foundation Reem Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Noor Dubai Foundation Dr. Alawi Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Water Water Foundation Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation Mohammed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation Abdullah Al Basti, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Food Bank Foundation, Marwan bin Ghalita, Chairman of the Arab Media Award, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Jamal bin Huwaireb, and Saeed Al Eter, Executive Director of the Foundation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum issued Decree No. 42 of 2025, appointing Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi as Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also issued Resolution No. (3) of 2025 appointing Saeed Al Eter as Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
Institution objectives
Law No. 12 of 2025 specified the objectives of the institution; Which includes supporting and enhancing the comprehensive strategy of the UAE in the field of humanitarian, development and social work, by coordinating efforts that would enhance that strategy, and drawing the general vision and strategic framework through which the concerned authorities work to achieve the organization’s goals.
The objectives also include launching programmes, projects and initiatives to support humanitarian work, and encouraging the culture of humanitarian and development work in the UAE and the Arab world in order to achieve the development vision of the country, in addition to securing financial support to finance charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives sponsored by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, Supreme President of the Foundation, in order to ensure their sustainability.
The objectives also include strengthening the role of the Foundation internationally in the charitable, relief and humanitarian fields, in coordination with local and international humanitarian institutions and organizations, and drawing up the general media framework for the Foundation and the concerned parties to highlight their contributions and role in the field of humanitarian, development and social work at the local, regional and global levels, in a way that achieves integration in the media messages and visual identity of the concerned parties, in addition to enhancing harmony between the concerned parties and directing efforts towards the issues that most impact the local, Arab and global community, to achieve humanitarian and development goals, which demonstrates its profound impact on Controlling various pests that threaten communities.
Institution’s specializations
The law stipulates that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, in order to achieve its objectives, shall carry out a set of tasks and powers, including: general supervision and coordination of the initiatives, projects and programs of the concerned parties, submitting the necessary reports thereon to the Supreme President of the Foundation, preparing an integrated strategic communication plan to link all the initiatives of the concerned authorities and providing all aspects of media support to them, and developing an integrated mechanism for information management to inventory all initiatives and projects of the concerned authorities and measure their performance, outputs and impact in a way that supports achieving the organisation’s objectives, and spreading awareness of the importance of Humanitarian, development and social work in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The Foundation also undertakes the development and development plans in the field of charitable, relief and humanitarian work locally and internationally, contributes to providing financial assistance to those in need of humanitarian cases, develops a regional and global cooperation network in the field of humanitarian and development work, and works to join the membership of international charitable, humanitarian and relief institutions to ensure that the Foundation obtains international recognition in accordance with applicable legislation, and issues reports in cooperation with governmental, regional and international bodies in everything related to the Foundation’s field of work.
The Foundation is also responsible for managing the gifts, grants, endowments and prizes that the Foundation receives or establishes in accordance with applicable legislation, implementing charitable, humanitarian and relief projects and initiatives at the local, regional and global levels, organizing fundraising campaigns to finance and support charitable, humanitarian and relief projects and initiatives launched or in which the Foundation or any of the concerned parties participate in accordance with applicable legislation, as well as providing support for scientific institutions and specialized research activities by granting them awards and discretionary rewards and establishing research scholarship programmes. Studies in coordination with universities recognized by the competent authority inside and outside the country, and organizing conferences and seminars specialized in charitable and humanitarian affairs and works inside and outside the country.
Concerned authorities
The law specifies the concerned authorities, which include a number of institutions, campaigns and initiatives launched by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, which contribute with the Foundation to achieving its goals, including the Noor Dubai Foundation, the UAE Suqia Foundation, the Al Jalila Foundation to support education and research in the medical fields, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation, Dubai Humanitarian Foundation, the Museum of the Future, the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, the Arab Reading Challenge initiative, and a number of awards launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to support charitable, scientific, humanitarian and cultural projects.
