UAE Harvest 2025/ Quality infrastructure projects that enhance the quality of life

Abu Dhabi, December 26 / WAM / During the year 2025, the infrastructure sector in the UAE witnessed a group of strategic projects to keep pace with the aspirations of economic growth and support the development process in various fields.

The announced list of projects embodied a comprehensive national vision aimed at enhancing the quality of life, stability and well-being for all residents of the country.

The UAE announced the high-speed train project that will connect Abu Dhabi with Dubai and shorten travel time between them to about 30 minutes at a speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour, with an expected economic contribution exceeding 145 billion dirhams over the next five decades.

Last November, the annual meetings of the UAE government revealed national development programs in the road sector worth more than 170 billion dirhams until 2030, including projects aimed at raising the efficiency of the federal road network and improving the flow of movement between the emirates of the country.

At the local level, the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure signed partnership contracts between the public and private sectors worth 22 billion dirhams during the current year 2025.

The center reported that the total number of public-private partnership projects under development reached more than 600 projects last October.

For its part, the Emirate of Dubai unveiled a group of huge projects, such as developing Al Fai Street worth 1.5 billion dirhams, implementing the entrances and exits of “Dubai Islands” from the Bur Dubai side via a new bridge 1,425 meters long and at a cost of 786 million dirhams, developing the rainwater drainage system in four areas at a cost of 1.439 billion dirhams within the “Drainage” project, and the 30-kilometre-long Dubai Metro Blue Line, which will include 14 new stations serving about one million dirhams. Nesma, in addition to new projects worth 7.6 billion dirhams, including the operation of four main transmission stations with a voltage of 132 kilovolts and the extension of underground cables with a length of 228 kilometers.

In Sharjah, the opening of the Al Layya Canal project in the Al Khalidiya suburb, which includes various service facilities and new public spaces, was highlighted during the current year, the opening of the airport station in the Umm Fannin area with a voltage of 220 kilovolts and a cost exceeding 500 million dirhams, the completion of the project to extend the main water line from Kalba to Wadi Al Hilo at a value of 43.77 million dirhams, and the inauguration of the Independence Square project. Sharjah also approved an amount of 42 million dirhams for the implementation of internal roads in the two areas. Al-Ramaqia and Al-Sweihat.

In turn, the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman opened the Sheikh Zayed Road development project in the Al Helio area, with a length of 2.8 kilometers, at a cost of 63 million dirhams. The Emirates Council for Balanced Development also announced the start of implementation of the “Masfoot Gate” project, which aims to develop vital facilities in the region and connect natural and heritage landmarks through connected walking paths.

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport announced the development of a building designated for VIPs and hangars for private aircraft, in cooperation with Falcon Executive Aviation. The project includes facilities extending over more than 18,000 square metres, providing an advanced structure to support private aviation and tourism services.

In Umm Al Quwain, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure launched a project to develop and raise the efficiency of Emirates Road at a cost of 750 million dirhams, which includes expanding the road to five lanes in each direction and constructing six new bridges, which contributes to improving movement and reducing travel time by up to 45%.

For its part, the Department of Public Works and Agriculture in Fujairah began implementing the ninth phase of the internal roads project with a length of 31 kilometers in a number of areas of the emirate. The emirate also witnessed the entry of the “Fujairah F3” independent electricity generating station into commercial service with a capacity of 2.4 gigawatts.
