Competent authorities in Abu Dhabi: One person died and 4 others were injured as a result of shrapnel falling at the Habshan Gas facilities following the successful interception by air defenses.

ABU DHABI, 3 APRIL / WAM / The competent authorities in Abu Dhabi announced the death of one person and the injury of four others as a result of shrapnel falling at the Habshan Gas facilities, following the successful interception by air defences.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office explained, in a statement, that the accident resulted in the death of an Egyptian national during the process of evacuating the site, in addition to four people suffering minor injuries, two of Pakistani nationality and two of Egyptian nationality.
He added that the incident, which was previously announced, resulted in the outbreak of two fires at the site, which the emergency response teams began dealing with with great speed and efficiency, and were able to control the situation.
The office indicated that the accident caused severe damage to the facilities, while the competent authorities are still continuing assessment work to determine the extent of the damage and take the necessary measures.
