Al-Qassam announces the killing of its military spokesman, Abu Ubaida, and a group of its leaders

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced the killing of its military spokesman, “Abu Ubaida,” along with a group of leaders, including the movement’s deputy chief of staff, Muhammad al-Sinwar, and the commander of the Rafah Brigade, Muhammad Shabana.

This came in a speech in which the new spokesman for the Brigades appeared announcing the killing of 5 of its leaders: “Deputy Chief of Staff of the Resistance, Muhammad al-Sinwar, Commander of the Rafah Brigade, Muhammad Shabana, Hakam al-Issa, Commander of the Combat Weapons Corner, Raed Saad, Commander of the Industrialization Corner, and the military spokesman for the Brigades, Hudhayfah al-Kahlot,” according to the Palestinian Press Agency (Safa).

On August 30, 2025, Israel announced that it had launched a raid in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City that resulted in the death of Abu Ubaida.
