Emirates Airlines expects a major peak in travel traffic during the first week of January

Emirates expects a significant peak in travel during the first week of January, with high numbers of departures and arrivals recorded during the period from 2 to 5 January.

Emirates Airlines strongly recommends that travelers arrive at the airport four hours before take-off, taking into account the possibility of traffic congestion on the roads leading to the airport, full parking lots, and high traffic density within the airport.

Emirates Airlines invites travelers to take advantage of a range of services that allow them a faster and smoother travel experience.

1. Take advantage of remote check-in options
Customers can save time at the airport by checking in at the DIFC check-in centre. The center is located in a distinguished location in the heart of the commercial district, and provides Emirates customers with free parking to complete travel procedures and drop off luggage up to 24 hours and up to 4 hours before the flight time.

Customers who complete travel procedures and drop off their luggage at this location until January 15 will receive a reward of 2,500 miles from the Emirates Skywards program for each traveler.

The center operates daily from eight in the morning until twelve midnight, until January 15.
Customers can also pre-check in at the 24-hour Emirates Ajman hub, located at Ajman Central Bus Station, up to 24 hours in advance and up to 4 hours before flight departure.

2. Book a home check-in service in Dubai and Sharjah
Emirates Airlines offers its customers the option of completing travel procedures from home in Dubai and Sharjah, where Emirates employees carry out travel procedures at the customer’s home, hotel or office, and transport the luggage to the airport, allowing travelers to arrive at the airport later with hand luggage only. This service must be booked at least 24 hours before the flight date, and Emirates Airlines advises early booking to avoid service unavailability.

The home check-in service is provided free of charge to First Class customers and Skywards Platinum members.

3. Use public transportation such as the Dubai Metro to and from the airport
The Dubai Metro provides a quick and convenient way to reach Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, through the Red Metro Line, which provides direct access to the airport. Trains operate at a regular frequency from early morning until late at night, making them an effective option to avoid traffic congestion during peak periods.

Passengers can get off at the dedicated Terminal 3 station, which is directly connected to the terminal via moving walkways and escalators, making it easy to reach the check-in, departure and arrival areas. Passengers can also use the metro to return home after arrival.

4. Arrive at Dubai International Airport 4 hours before the flight time

Emirates Airlines recommends that its customers arrive at Dubai International Airport 4 hours before the scheduled take-off time, to ensure sufficient time to complete travel procedures if they have not been done previously through the Emirates application or the Emirates.com website, drop off luggage, complete immigration procedures, and arrive at the boarding gate at least an hour before take-off time. Emirates Airlines also urges all travelers to choose their seats in advance and ensure that all travel documents are valid.
