Trump criticizes Clooney after obtaining French citizenship

Yesterday, US President Donald Trump criticized Paris’ granting of French citizenship to American actor George Clooney, his wife, Lebanese-British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, and their two children.
Trump said that France has a “horrible” problem with crime and immigration.
Clooney, his wife and their eight-year-old twins obtained French citizenship according to a decree published on Saturday in the Official Gazette.

Clooney is one of the most prominent supporters of the Democratic Party and is also one of Trump’s most vocal critics.
Trump pointed to the fact that the actor supported Biden During the US presidential elections of 2024but then “abandoned” it due to his concern about the Democratic candidate’s age during a fundraising event.
He added, “Clooney received more publicity in politics than he did in his few, modest films. He was not a movie star. He was just an ordinary man who constantly complained about common sense in politics.”
