"Emirates Educational Development"/ Pioneering initiatives that establish excellence in the educational system

Abu Dhabi, January 4, 2025 – The Emirates College for Educational Development has strengthened its efforts and initiatives to prepare educational leaders and support innovation in the educational system, reflecting its commitment to the vision of the UAE and its aspirations towards excellence in the education sector.
The college launched a series of qualitative and internationally accredited academic programs, through which it enabled thousands of educators to acquire skills in teaching artificial intelligence and employ the latest technologies in government schools. It also launched research initiatives and concluded strategic partnerships to enhance its contributions to developing educational competencies and modernizing educational practices.
The “I Care” community initiative is one of the most prominent initiatives launched by the college, which aims to enhance parents’ participation in the educational process, thus contributing to achieving community cohesion and building a cohesive and prosperous society, in line with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Community.
The college strengthened its position as a leading global research destination, by producing 60 studies indexed in the global “Scopes database,” of which 27 were published in first-level journals, while 15% of its publications were classified among the top 10% of the most cited research in the world.
The Emirates College for Educational Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, launched the “Afaq” training program, the first of its kind in the country, with the aim of enabling educators and teachers to employ artificial intelligence technologies and integrate them into the educational environment in an effective, ethical and sustainable manner, in line with the strategic directions of the UAE towards the future of education.
The year 2025 witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of applications for admission to the programs of the Emirates College for Educational Development, as the college received 1,795 applications during the first half of the year, and 1,048 applications in the third quarter, including 601 applications submitted by Emirati students.
In August, 651 new students enrolled in the first semester, and the college graduated more than 200 male and female students during the year, who presented more than 20 research theses at international and national conferences.
The college continued its efforts to qualify school leaders by implementing the “Comprehensive Capacity Building for Educational Leadership” program with the participation of 100 educational leaders, with the aim of developing leadership capabilities and enhancing the efficiency of school performance management at the state level.
Based on its pioneering role in the field of artificial intelligence and innovation, the Emirates College for Educational Development organized a series of training courses and workshops, which included the basics of artificial intelligence for Emirati educators and teachers, and specialized workshops for government school teachers from kindergarten to twelfth grade, in addition to national programs on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in education.
The college expanded its network of partnerships with an elite group of local and international bodies, including the Ministry of Education, the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, the Emirates Literature Foundation, the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, and the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies. It also joined the accreditation team of the Council of International Schools in Kuwait, thus confirming its pioneering role in building bridges of academic cooperation, exchanging experiences, and enhancing the quality of education in accordance with the highest international standards.
Dr. Mai Laith Al-Taie, Director of the Emirates College for Educational Development, confirmed that the college’s achievements last year reflect its deep commitment to supporting the UAE’s vision in building an innovative educational system and preparing a generation of leaders and educators capable of leading the Emirati school towards horizons of excellence and global leadership.
She said that the college worked to ensure that its academic programs, research initiatives, and strategic partnerships were an essential source of the educational renaissance process, keeping pace with global transformations in education and enhancing the country’s position as a leading center for innovation and knowledge.
