About atheism…this is what a famous Arab artist said

Egyptian artist Sabreen narrated her experience in the movie “The Atheist,” which sparked widespread controversy since the announcement of its presentation because it dealt with a sensitive issue.

Sabreen said in an interview with “Erem News” that the great controversy that has accompanied the work since its inception is primarily due to its name and address, considering that they were a direct cause of anxiety among many.

She added that the film does not side with any particular intellectual proposition, but rather merely presents and discusses ideas, stressing that the goal is not to promote these ideas, but rather to open the door to discussion and confront them by presenting them clearly.

Sabreen touched on the phenomenon of atheism, considering it to be one of the increasing phenomena in Arab societies in recent years, especially through social media platforms, especially the “Tik Tok” application.

She explained that she felt concerned after seeing some content that promoted atheistic ideas, which prompted her to discuss this matter with her children, stressing that they showed awareness and clear rejection of those ideas.

She reassured the audience that the film does not carry any inappropriate messages, but rather presents a serious intellectual presentation that goes beyond the usual entertainment framework of art.
