المملكة: Urgent: The Council of Ministers: Approval of the organization of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – chaired the session held by the Council of Ministers today in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the session; The Cabinet was briefed on the contents of the phone calls received by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – from His Excellency the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, His Excellency the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and the review of relations between the Kingdom that took place during the talks. Saudi Arabia and their sister countries, and discussed developments in events on the regional and international arenas.
The Council then followed up on developments in the situation in the region, and the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance the security and stability of the sister Republic of Yemen and provide conditions supportive of dialogue between all parties. In this context, it once again welcomed the request of His Excellency the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, to hold a comprehensive conference in the city of Riyadh for all southern components; With the aim of finding a vision for just solutions to the southern issue, in a way that meets the legitimate aspirations of southerners.
His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, explained in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Council touched on the contributions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addressing the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip by intensifying its air, sea and land bridges to relieve the brotherly Palestinian people under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them -; This is an extension of its well-known historic role in providing all forms of support and assistance to those affected in various circumstances, and an affirmation that Palestine will remain firmly rooted in the conscience of this country’s leadership and people.
With regard to local affairs; The Council of Ministers affirmed the Kingdom’s interest in continuing to strengthen its position in the field of advanced technologies and building an integrated digital system that contributes to supporting the competitiveness of the national economy and attracting investments. To achieve the goals of (the Kingdom’s Vision 2030) in building a sustainable economy based on data and artificial intelligence.
In this context, the Council noted that the capital, Riyadh, witnessed the launch of the largest project in the world for a government data center called (Hexagon); Which is a qualitative strategic push to make the Kingdom a global center in this field. In a way that ensures data sovereignty and security, and enables innovation and the digital economy.
The Council of Ministers reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying. It also reviewed what the Political and Security Affairs Councils, the Economic Affairs and Development Councils, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts of the Council of Ministers concluded in this regard. The Council concluded the following:
First:
Approval of a draft headquarters agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Centre. Regional Quality and Excellence in Education.
Second:
Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish, Food Security and Nature in the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the field of adopting and localizing innovations and advanced technologies in the environment, water and agriculture sectors.
Third:
Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Tourism – or his representative – to discuss with the Trinidad and Tobago side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Arts in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Fourth:
Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Tourism – or his representative – to discuss with the Chinese side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the People’s Republic of China.
Fifth:
Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Geological Survey – or his representative – to discuss with the Kazakh side a project A memorandum of cooperation in the field of earth sciences between the Saudi Geological Survey in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University for Technical Research in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Sixth:
Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Competition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman in the field of protecting competition and preventing harmful monopolistic practices.
Seventh:
Approval of a draft cooperation agreement between the Presidency of State Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Security and intelligence in the Republic of Zambia in the field of combating terrorist crimes and its financing.
Eighth:
Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Agency for Water and Forests in the Kingdom of Morocco in the field of developing natural vegetation and combating desertification.
Ninth:
Approval of draft rules and work procedures for the National Minerals Program.
Tenth:
Approval of organizing The National Committee for Education, Culture and Science.
Eleventh:
Renewing the term of the National Program for the Development of the Information Technology Sector until the end of the year (2030 AD).
Twelfth:
Appointing His Excellency Dr. Faisal bin Hamad Al-Suqair, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Barrak, and Professor Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad Al-Subaie; Members of the Board of Directors of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority starting on 9/20/1447 AH.
Thirteenth:
Providing necessary guidance regarding a number of topics on the agenda of the Council of Ministers, including annual reports for the Ministry of Culture, the General Authority for Statistics, the General Authority for Military Industries, the Hail Region Development Authority, the King Salman Park Foundation, the Sports Path Foundation, the National Center for Transportation Safety, and the National Center for Inspection and Control, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, and the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts.
