“ADNOC” decides to invest in “deep gas development” in the “Sarb” field

ADNOC announced yesterday that it had taken the “final investment decision” in the strategic project to develop deep gas in the “Sarb” field, located within the “Ghasha” offshore concession in Abu Dhabi.

It is planned that the project’s daily production will reach 200 million standard cubic feet of gas before the end of the current decade, which is enough to produce energy that provides the electricity needs of more than 300,000 homes daily.

ADNOC stated, in a statement, that the latest advanced technology tools and artificial intelligence will be used in the operations of this technologically advanced project, which will be operated remotely from Arzana Island, to benefit from its existing infrastructure to increase efficiency and enhance safety.

Musabah Al Kaabi, CEO of the Exploration, Development and Production Department at ADNOC, said: “We are pleased to confirm that the final investment decision has been made in the strategic project to develop deep gas in the (Sarb) field located within the (Ghasha) concession, which contributes to strengthening our endeavors to achieve the maximum possible benefit from the distinguished gas resources in Abu Dhabi, in a way that supports the UAE’s efforts to achieve self-sufficiency from this vital resource, and enhances its role as a reliable exporter of gas to global markets.”

He added: “The project will benefit from advanced technology tools and artificial intelligence, and will also work to achieve the maximum possible benefit from the integrations across ADNOC’s marine infrastructure to raise efficiency, create and enhance value.”

It is noteworthy that the deep gas development project in the “Sarb” field is located 120 kilometers from the shores of Abu Dhabi, and consists of a new offshore platform that includes four gas production wells, connected to Das Island, where the gas will be linked to the “ADNOC Gas” facilities to be processed in the development and production stages, which enhances integration with other projects affiliated with “ADNOC”.
