The Ruler of Sharjah approves the treatment of cases benefiting from social support

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, approved the treatment of cases benefiting from social support at the Department of Social Services, bringing them to the standard of decent living, and raising the value of monthly assistance to 17,500 dirhams per month, amounting to 4,237 cases, at a total cost of 404 million and 940 thousand and 624 dirhams annually, in addition to processing employment applications amounting to 560 applications, and processing housing rental cases, which amount to 672 cases, and follow-up requests for housing construction, at the level of cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, in continuation of His Highness’s directives to raise the value of monthly aid.
A number of groups benefit from social support, including: the elderly with 3,126 cases, widows with 134 cases, divorced women with 877 cases, and low-income people (two or more individuals aged 45 to 59 years) with 100 cases, starting with the city of Sharjah, followed by the rest of the cities and regions of the emirate.
The city of Sharjah includes 2,415 cases at a cost of more than 231 million dirhams annually, while the 513 cases in the city of Khor Fakkan will benefit at a cost of up to 50 million dirhams annually, while the number of cases in the city of Kalba reached 588 cases at a cost of up to 57 million dirhams, and the number of cases in the city of Dibba Al Hisn reached 248 cases at a cost of up to 23 million dirhams annually, while the number of cases in the city of Al Dhaid reached 248 cases at a cost of up to 23 million dirhams annually. There are 173 of them at an annual cost of 16.4 million dirhams.
At the level of the emirate’s regions, 116 cases will benefit in the Al Madam region at a cost of more than 11 million dirhams, in addition to the Maliha region, where the cases reach 59 cases at a cost of approximately 6 million dirhams annually, while the cases in the Al Bataeh region, numbering 42 cases, will benefit at a cost of 3.5 million dirhams annually, while the cases in the Hamriyah region amount to 83 cases at a cost of 7.7 million dirhams.
