"Football Stars Week in Sharjah" It celebrates the sporting and cultural heritage of the emirate

Sharjah, 8 January / WAM / Today, during a press conference held at the Western House in Sharjah, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority revealed the details of the fourth edition of “Sharjah Football Stars Week”, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, on the 10th and 11th of January, in cooperation with the International Federation for the Development of Football, FIFA and the FIFA Plus platform, to confirm its status as an annual event to celebrate. Sports and culture by bringing together sports legends in a group of programs full of activities that highlight the important role of the Emirate of Sharjah as a global center for culture, tourism and sports.

The press conference was attended by His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al-Hussan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council, Ali Al-Arif, CEO of the World Paddle Academy, Yuri Gorkaev, Special Football Advisor to the President of the International Federation of Association Football (Gianni Infantino), Massimiliano Soglia, Director-General of the International Federation for the Development of Football, and Sam McLaren, Director of Golf at the Sharjah Club. For golf and shooting, and Steve Crane, Executive Director of the International Football Association, in addition to the participation of legends David Trezeguet and Fernando Llorente.

In its fourth year, Sharjah Football Stars Week has become one of the most prominent sporting events, attracting distinguished participation from elite athletes and football legends from around the world. The continued success of this event reflects the emirate’s firm commitment to providing world-class sporting events, highlighting the emirate’s ongoing efforts to enhance its position as a prominent sports and cultural destination.

Al Midfa stressed the emirate’s keenness to organize major sporting events to highlight its potential and enhance its tourism system by highlighting its cultural and sporting landmarks, noting that the fourth edition of the event sought to highlight the emirate’s efforts in achieving harmony between tourism, sports and sustainability in accordance with the highest international standards.

He pointed out that organizing such global events is a reflection of the visions and directives of His Highness the Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and his constant keenness to support and develop sports as an essential part of the emirate’s comprehensive development and enhance its position on the global tourism and sports map alike.

The activities of “Sharjah Football Stars Week” include the “Stars Padel Tour” on January 10 at the World Padel Academy in Sharjah, and the second event, “Football Stars in Football,” on January 11 alongside the “Stars Night” on the pitch at the Sharjah Sports Club, with the participation of 36 players from the most prominent former international stars and legends of the game.
