Save a medical team with Diriyah Hospital, affiliated with the Third Riyadh Health Cluster, the life of a 15-year-old child, after he suffered a severe stroke, through a neurointerventional catheterization procedure that was crowned with success.
Initial examinations at Al-Dawadmi General Hospital revealed that the patient was suffering from a blockage of the middle cerebral artery, which caused sudden weakness in the right side, loss of sensation, and difficulty speaking.
The critical condition required medical coordination. The child was urgently transferred to Diriyah Hospital, where the specialized team performed a precise operation to remove the clot using a neurointerventional catheter through the right femoral artery.
A qualitative surgical breakthrough

The leader of the neurological path at the third Riyadh Health Cluster, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shanbari, explained that the patient witnessed a noticeable improvement, as he regained consciousness naturally to continue the delicate journey of recovery.
Dr. Al-Shanbari stressed that the success of these advanced interventions represents a “quantum shift” in dealing with critical strokes, attributing this to High readiness and institutional integration.
The Third Riyadh Health Cluster pointed out its complete keenness to support medical competencies, to ensure the provision of advanced specialized services that raise the quality of life and keep pace with the goals of the “health transformation” for the year 2030.
