The Dominican Republic will receive 11.6 million tourists in 2025

Santo Domingo, January 10, 2017 – The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic announced that the country received a record number of 11.68 million tourists in 2025.

The Ministry explained that this number represents an increase of 4.3% compared to the year 2024 and 13.3% compared to the year 2023.

The Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado, said that his country received 1.39 million tourists during the month of December, an increase of 14.2% compared to the same month in 2024, adding that incoming tourists mainly come from the United States, Canada, Argentina and Colombia.

The country’s hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 71% throughout 2025.

The Dominican Republic, a North American country on the island of Hispaniola and part of the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean, received a total of 11.19 million tourists during 2024.
