An earthquake in Lebanon raises concerns among residents

The Seismic Monitoring Network in Lebanon reported, early Sunday, that an earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale had been recorded, hitting the eastern Mediterranean off the Lebanese coast at midnight.

The network reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 35 kilometers, which was felt in Beirut and a number of Lebanese regions.

She explained that the shallow depth of the earthquake contributed to residents feeling it more clearly compared to deeper earthquakes of the same strength, without recording any material damage or injuries.
