Emirates Libraries and Khor Fakkan University enhance academic and professional cooperation

SHARJAH, 14th JANUARY / WAM / Today, the Emirates Library and Information Association signed a cooperation agreement with Khor Fakkan University on the sidelines of the Second Emirati Libraries Forum, currently being held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority, with the aim of consolidating the bonds of cooperation and exchanging experiences between the two sides.

The agreement was signed by Fahd Al-Maamari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Library and Information Association, and Dr. Saif Al-Naqbi, Vice Chancellor of Khor Fakkan University for Community Affairs.

The agreement includes coordinating community programs and organizing specialized events such as conferences, workshops and training programs, in addition to providing professional consultations, activating attendance in regional and international bodies, supporting the collection and availability of reliable data, and developing library services provided to the community.

Fahd Al-Maamari stressed that the signing of the agreement reflects the association’s keenness to build effective strategic partnerships with national academic institutions in a way that contributes to developing the library and information sector, enhancing the exchange of experiences, and preparing qualified cadres capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in this vital sector.

For his part, Dr. Saif Al-Naqbi stressed that the agreement comes within the framework of Khor Fakkan University’s direction towards expanding its partnerships with specialized professional institutions to serve students, researchers and community members and contribute to the development of academic and training programs related to the library and information sector.
